New Delhi: Despite Islamabad having rejected allegations that its troops were involved in killing of five Indian soldiers along LoC in Jammu and Kashmir, External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid on Wednesday said that government of India is waiting for an ‘explanation’ from Pakistan on the issue.

Khurshid said that India has raised the issue with Pakistan and will take steps based on the emerging situation. He however conceded that such incidents create roadblocks in the peace process.

Speaking to a news channel, Khurshid said, “We will come to know why this happened only after Pakistan gives us an explanation. Till the time it doesn’t happen there will be fog in the atmosphere.”

The Minister cautioned that things won’t get better in a day and added that such incidents do cause pain.

“Going forward we will have to see how Pakistan responds... Whatever decision we take will be first put before the Parliament,” he said.

Khurshid also rejected the claims regarding alleged difference of opinion between Defence Minister AK Antony and the Ministry of Defence.
