New Delhi: Amid growing concerns about his health on the day 9 of his indefinite fast to press for a strong Lokapl Bill, an energetic Anna Hazare assured his supporters that he is healthy and could fast for the next nine days.
“I am overwhelmed by your support. I am receiving energy from the enthusiasm of the crowd. Nothing will happen to me. We will fight together. I can fast for the next nine days,” he told cheering supporters at Ramlila Maidan.
His statement came amid concerns about his health after Hazare refused to take intravenous drip.
Team Anna is also worried about his health conditions.
“Some people have spoiled the country. We all will together re-build the country. But, if I die for the betterment of the country, it would be an honour for me,” the Gandhian said.
“The rising corruption has made the life of the common man difficult. The government’s strategists have failed to understand the cruel reality,” he said.
“To get a stronger Lokpal bill is our constitutional right. We will get it,” he added.
“There is a pressing need to decentralise power,” Anna said.
Meanwhile, reports say Anna could be forcefully taken to hospital. DCP Ashok Chand has reached Ramlila Maidan.
