New Delhi: The BJP spokesperson Ravi Shankar Prasad on Friday demanded an answer from Prime Minister Manmohan Singh about why was Shashi Tharoor not sacked.
Prasad, while addressing a press conference stated that since a minister was also a public servant, Tharoor was guilty of misusing his position for personal gains.
He raised the pertinent question asking why was an aide of the External Affairs Minister present at the IPL auction? Levelling allegations against him, the opposition party spokesperson accused him of “downright corruption” for a bounty of sweat equity worth Rs 75 crore which was undilutable in perpetuity which was given to his girlfriend by the one of the stakeholders of the IPL Kochi team.
Meanwhile the BJP asserted that it was trying to extract accountability from the Congress-led government at the Centre and not Tharoor.
