New Delhi: Prime Minister-designate Narendra Modi`s nomination proposer Chhandu Lal Mishra, a noted classical singer of Varanasi, on Saturday said that he will attend the swearing-in ceremony to bless him.
“I have received the invitation to attend the swearing-in ceremony and will go there to bless Narendra Modi,” Mishra told ANI.
Modi`s name was proposed by the Padma Vibhushan awardee Chhandu Lal Mishra in Varanasi.
Madan Mohan Malaviya`s grandson Giridhar Malaviya, a retired judge of the Allahabad High Court, will be propose Modi`s nomination. Madan Mohan Malaviya, a four-time former president of Indian National Congress, was also the founder of the Benares Hindu University, the largest residential university in Asia.
Others who proposed Modi`s name includes grandson of noted educationist Madan Mohan Malaviya, Giridhar Malaviya, who is now a retired high court judge.
Apart from Malaviya, boatman Virbhadra Nishad and Ashok, representing the dominant weaver community were also proposed the PM-designate`s name for the elections.
