Woman with IM link held for selling fake herbal products

A 28-year-old woman, an alleged member of Indian Mujahideen and accomplice of American Centre attack convict Aftab Ansari, was arrested here along with four US nationals for purportedly selling fake herbal products.

New Delhi: A 28-year-old woman, an alleged member of Indian Mujahideen and accomplice of American Centre attack convict Aftab Ansari, was arrested here along with four US nationals for purportedly selling fake herbal products, police said on Friday.
Nikita, who served over six years in prison and released
in 2008, will also be interrogated by intelligence agencies in
view of the Pune terror attack. She was arrested yesterday
from Jor Bagh market in south Delhi for selling the products
through internet.

The arrested have been identified as Richard Eugenes
(36), Tommy Ojeaga (38), Aaron (34), all hailing from Nigeria,
and Lucien (35) from Ivory Coast, Deputy Commissioner of
Police (South) H G S Dhaliwal said.

Three fake Silphium Terebinthinateum (ST) herbal seeds,
few fake business cards of various leading drug companies,
three laptops, several international SIM cards and four
passports have been recovered from the group.
The drug which they sold as ST was found to be a soup
material namely `Okbono` used by Africans for mixing up in
vegetables to make it greasy and is also available in Delhi
for Rs 100 per packet.

The arrests came following a complaint by an Ahmedabad-
based businessman Hemchandra Barot yesterday that he was
cheated by some people of Rs 4.5 lakh after being lured into
the business of selling herbal products.
