Govt had earlier set June 15 as last date for registering with embassy for provision of free tickets.

New Delhi: Government on Thursday extended by three days the last date for registration with Indian embassy in Yemen by those who want to exit the troubled country.

"Indian nationals who wish to seek help in exiting from Yemen are advised to get themselves registered with Indian embassy, Sana`a latest by June 18," the Overseas Indian Affairs Ministry said in a statement.

Government had earlier set June 15 as last date for registering with Embassy of India, Sana`a for provision of free tickets.

"Arrangements for their journey to India shall be made by the government of India through the Indian embassy at Sana`a," said the statement.

A control room has also been set up in the embassy to provide help to the Indian people. The phone numbers of the control room are +967 1425 308 and +967 734 000 657.

Clashes have killed over 200 people so far, signalling no respite to the violence in the poor Arab nation shaken by months of unrest.
