Aizawl: AICC general secretary Rahul Gandhi
On Monday asked the younger generation to actively take part in
politics as youths comprised over 40 per cent of the country`s
population.

Addressing students of the Mizoram University at Tanhril
near here, Rahul said being born and brought up in a political
family, he was of the view that politicians should be in
politics for the upliftment of the people.

"I believe in listening (and then) implementing", he
said, adding that he had come to Mizoram to listen to the
voice of the youths.
"I believe that the youth, comprising more than 40 per
cent of our population should come into politics," he said.

After interacting with the students for more than an
hour, Rahul inaugurated a girls` hostel inside the university
campus.
Rahul changed his earlier plan to return today and would
stay overnight in Aizawl, Congress sources said, adding he
would address a press conference here tomorrow.
