Hyderabad: Senior Congress leaders today
intensified their attack on the late Y S Rajasekhara Reddy
administration over the allegations of corruption in a state-
owned corporation during his tenure as Chief Minister.
Rajya Sabha member V Hanumantha Rao said he would take
the "victims", who allegedly lost land that was acquired by
Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC)
and later handed over to private companies, to Congress
President Sonia Gandhi if such a need arises.
Another senior leader V Purushothama Reddy said he and
other colleagues would come out with more such "scams".
In a veiled attack on the late Congress leader, senior
party MLAs D L Ravindra Reddy and J C Diwakar Reddy recently
alleged that a scam worth Rs 10,000 crore took place in the
APIIC during Y S R Reddy`s tenure as Chief Minister.
Ravindra Reddy said he has requested Chief Minister K
Rosaiah to order a probe into it to bring out the truth.
Ravindra said he would also write to party high command
seeking a CBI probe.
Responding to the allegations, Ambati Rambabu, who was
Chairman of APIIC, wondered why the leaders kept silent for
all these years. "Why are they raising the issue now. Why did
they remain silent all these years. Is it not their mistake?"
Rambabu also said he is ready for a probe into the issue.
Rambabu, a close aide of Kadapa MP Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy,
was recently suspended from Congress for making critical
remarks against party leadership and Rosaiah.
