New Delhi: Soon you will be able to register yourself for organ donation with just a click. Thanks to Apple's upcoming software update that will present an app for organ donation. In its health app, iOS 10 will include a sign up button for an easy organ donation registration.
Apple CEO Tim Cook in an statement given to Associated Press said that Steve Jobs' seven year long liver transplant wait made the issue more clear to the company.
The tech giant in collaboration with a not-for-profit alliance, Donate Life America, aim at increasing the awareness about organ donation across United States. This partnership will enhance automation in donor and matching service, and greater connectivity with transplant centres which will thereby increase matching process to get donors for patients in less time.
The users signed-up as organ donor via their iPhone will then be automatically synced to National Donate Life Registry.
