Sydney: Australia wicketkeeper Brad Haddin, who has been out of team following series of poor performances, has said getting back in the squad is the easy part as long as he keeps performing at the top level.
Haddin has displayed good early season form as he looks to force his way back into the Australian team, as he scored a fluent 114 against Tasmania last week
The 34-year-old struggled last summer and was rested from the Australian team in the one-day tri-series, although he later insisted he had actually been dropped.
Haddin, who will lead the Sydney Sixers in this month`s Champions League T20 tournament in South Africa, is not worrying about winning international selection.
“Selection to me has always been the easy issue. You can get carried away with what`s going on, but the bottom line is that the easiest way to get selected for the team is actually to take the decision right out of the hands of the selectors and perform,” a leading Australian daily quoted Haddin, as saying.
“I`ve always thought about making sure I`m prepared the best I possibly can be, and the selection part is the easy part. If you are performing you will get picked and if you are not up to scratch, you won`t,” he added.
