Google today honours the legendary British actress Audrey Hepburn with a pink doodle on her 85th birth anniversary. A picture of her with a pink background features in the middle of the Google logo.

Considered to be the world`s most beautiful woman ever and one of the biggest fashion icons, Audrey Hepburn rose to became a big screen legend during Hollywood`s so-called `Golden Age`.She was ranked by the American Film Institute as the third greatest female screen legend in the history of American cinema and has been placed in the International Best Dressed List Hall of Fame. She is also remembered for her extensive humanitarian work later in life, most notably with UNICEF.

Hepburn was born on May 4th 1929 in Brussels to a British father and Dutch aristocrat mother. Later she moved to London in 1948 to train as a ballet dancer which landed her a featured role in a Broadway play Sauce Piquante. This led to her first film and a breakthrough role in an adaption of Gigi, which took her to New York in 1951.
Her most memorable films include- Breakfast at Tiffany`s (1961),My Fair Lady (1964) , Sabrina (1954), War and Peace (1956) and Roman Holiday (1953) for which she won an Oscar, a Golden Globe and a BAFTA.

She died in Switzerland aged 63 in 1993 after a battle with appendiceal cancer.
