New Delhi: Google on Wednesday celebrated 155th birthday of German physicist Heirich Rudolf Hertz, with GHz-like waves featuring Google Colors, on its homepage.
One of the pillars of the “Electromagnetic Theory of Light,” Hertz was the first physicist to demonstrate the existence of electromagnetic waves. Hertz with his discovery opened the way for the development of radio, television, and radar.
Hertz was recognized posthumously by the International Electrotechnical Commission in 1930 for his contributions in the field of electromagnetics by having the unit of measurement of frequency named hertz.
The Hertz doodle, does not have Google letters rather it features an infinite-moving, colorful electromagnetic wave-like diagram.
