ICC World Twenty20 2016: Google celebrates the event with a doodle!

New Delhi: Continuing its tradition of marking important events with engaging, yet interesting doodles, Google on Monday paid its tribute to the ICC World T20 2016 with a colourful doodle on its homepage.

Interestingly, today’s doodle gives us an amazing bird’s eye view of a cricket stadium with players standing on the playing field.

The cricketing extravaganza, which will be held in India, will begin on 8 March and will continue to 3 April. It is the sixth edition of the ICC World Twenty20, and the first to be hosted by the country.

Seven Indian cities will host matches at the tournament, with the final one to be played at Eden Gardens, Kolkata.

Meanwhile, Mahendra Singh Dhoni and his men on Sunday won the 2016 Asia Cup, defeating Bangladesh by eight wickets in an exciting title-decider at Shere Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur.
