ISRO commercial arm Antrix's website restored

The website of Indian space agency's commercial arm Antrix Corporation was restored on Monday, a day after its home page was found hacked by unidentified attackers, an official said.

Bengaluru: The website of Indian space agency's commercial arm Antrix Corporation was restored on Monday, a day after its home page was found hacked by unidentified attackers, an official said.

"Home page of Antrix has been restored. Its website is active and accessible," an Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) spokesman told IANS here.

The official, however, declined to give details on how a sensitive and secured website of Antrix was hacked, defaced and posted with weird content on its home page, which was shut minutes after the glitch was detected.

"As the incident is being investigated, it is too early to comment. We are taking measures to protect our web sites and other platforms like Facebook from such cyber attacks," the official said.

Denying any security breach of the space agency's website (www.isro.gov.in) and its content, the official asserted that there was no damage to its home page or micro-sites of its other centres located across the country.

"Barring home page, other pages of Antrix website are safe and no damage done. Web sites of other centres are also secured and safe."

Antrix officials were shocked to find on its home page an unsigned news item in English on "about 300 kids from Cape Town getting American Major League jerseys at cheap prices in China".
