Washington: A new website called YouTube Map Explorer has been launched which shows the users what sort of videos people share with the world.

According to thenextweb.com, the unofficial project allows the users to browse the vast content on YouTube by navigating on a map of the world and click on a place to see the uploads. A random video will surface which was uploaded by a user from that place.

Users can adjust the radius of their search, from zero to within 30 kilometers. The videos are from random points in time, and user can not choose to view only the latest clips.

The app is occasionally inaccurate in surfacing content because some videos are tagged in different locations than their origin by users. Also, user cannot is not street-level accurate.

Developer Stefan Bakocs said that he did not allow street level accuracy on the map to prevent stalking. He added that he's working to introduce a feature that will surface the latest videos from any given location.
