Abducted contractors rescued in Assam

Two contractors abducted by the NDFB were rescued today by the army from Muktapur of Baksa district in Assam.

NDFB were rescued today by the army from Muktapur of Baksa
district in Assam.

The contractors, Amjad Ali and Gopal Chetri, were
rescued from the house of NDFB insurgent Sansuma Daimary, who
alomg with a linkman and his wife were apprehended, defence
sources said.

On a tip off, troops from the 8 Maratha Light
Regiment and 65 Artilery Regiment camps at Kamalpur and
Muktapur, respectively, traced the two contractors, the
sources said.

They were kidnapped by NDFB cadre Mahendra Bodo alias
Fauji with the help of Sansuma from Musalpur of Baksa on
October seven.

Though Fauji armed with weapons fled away, Sansuma and
linkman Bani Kanta Bodo and his wife Champa Bodo were
arrested, the sources added.
