Rangiya: Two contractors abducted by the NDFB were rescued today by the army from Muktapur of Baksa district in Assam.

The contractors, Amjad Ali and Gopal Chetri, were rescued from the house of NDFB insurgent Sansuma Daimary, who alomg with a linkman and his wife were apprehended, defence sources said.

On a tip off, troops from the 8 Maratha Light Regiment and 65 Artilery Regiment camps at Kamalpur and Muktapur, respectively, traced the two contractors, the sources said.

They were kidnapped by NDFB cadre Mahendra Bodo alias Fauji with the help of Sansuma from Musalpur of Baksa on October seven.

Though Fauji armed with weapons fled away, Sansuma and linkman Bani Kanta Bodo and his wife Champa Bodo were arrested, the sources added.
