Guwahati: The opposition Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) on Sunday said all sections of the ULFA leadership should be part of the talks during the peace initiative by the government.

"Every section of the ULFA leadership should be involved in the talks with the government," Patowary said.

Patowary`s comments came in the backdrop of leader of the opposition and two time former Chief Minister Prafulla Kumar Mahanta`s assertion that talks with ULFA will not be fruitful sans the elusive `commander-in-chief` Paresh Baruah.
However Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi earlier expressed view that peace process with the outfit can go ahead without Baruah.
"The majority of ULFA leaders have come forward for peace talks. Only one section has remained opposed to talks and is still indulging in violence," Gogoi said yesterday and warned the anti-talks faction that operations against them would not stop.
