Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Home Minister Tako
Dabi today ordered a joint operation by Army, Para Military forces and state police at Kharsang in Changlang district to trace an abducted employee of Arunachal Pradesh Mineral Development & Trading Corporation Limited (APMDTCL).
Four armed persons had kidnapped one Sanjay Kumar, a
supervisor of APMDTCL run coal mine located at Kharsang on
November 25 last and took him away towards Namchik, about
15-16 km off the coalfield, in the company vehicle.
Before abandoning the vehicle at Balithan Tinali, the
abductors reportedly damaged it and took away Sanjay Kumar, a
native of Bihar, towards a thick forest.
Though security forces were clueless on the whereabouts of
the abducted officials and the group involved, recent
investigation said that Kumar was kidnapped by Arunachal Naga
Liberation Force (ANLF), a rebel group.
Dabi, who discussed the matter with the top brass of
police, including DGP, IGP and DIGPs, here recently, directed
the Changlang Police to tie up with military and para-military
forces and go full throttle to get safe rescue of the victim.
"The Army, CRPF, Assam Rifle and IRBn jawans are
conducting massive search operations in suspected locations
with the SP Changlang and SDPO Miao along with forces being
stationed at Kharsang area to look for possible hide-outs of
kidnappers", he said.
"Security forces have launched the operation from this
morning after getting a go-ahead signal", he said.
DIG (Security) Robin Hibu is presently camping in the
district to supervise the operation", Dabi said.
