Itanagar: After the Centre appreciated
the Arunachal Pradesh model of third party monitoring of
projects initiated by Chief Minister Dorjee Khandu, NABARD
Consultancy Services and the state government on Thursday signed a
contract for monitoring special plan projects in the state.
The principal representative of NABCONS (NABARD
Consultancy Services) B G Mukhopadhyay and state planning
secretary Ankur Garg inked the contract for the year 2008-09.
Planning commissioner V K Dev said that the Centre has
appreciated third party monitoring as funds are used
effectively.
He urged the NABCONS officials to promptly report any
irregularity in implementation of projects.
NABCONS has already submitted two rounds of reports on
works being implemented under the PM`s package.
SPA (special plan projects) projects will be managed
under the present contract. Third party monitoring will be
done in the case of Border Area Development Projects too, he
added.
