Dibrugarh: Assam Governor J B Patnaik was
shifted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New
Delhi for treatment this afternoon after suffering leg
injuries following a fall yesterday.
After consultations with attending doctors, Patnaik`s
family members, including wife Jayanti, decided to shift him
to the premier hospital in New Delhi.
The Governor was taken to the national capital in a
special aircraft accompanied by a four-member doctor team,
official sources said.
The 84-year old Patnaik was admitted to Assam Medical
College here after suffering injury on his left leg when he
tripped in the washroon of Dibrugarh Circuit House yesterday.
Doctors attending on the governor said though he
suffered from diabetes and hypertension, the preliminary
reports were satisfacttory and there was no cause for worry.
