The Assam government today revoked the ban on passing medical reimbursement bills for employees and pensioners considering the problems faced by `genuine claimants`.

Guwahati: The Assam government today
revoked the ban on passing medical reimbursement bills for
employees and pensioners considering the problems faced by
`genuine claimants`.

All treasury officers of the state have been
instructed to pass such bills observing all necessary
formalities and transfer the funds in question to revenue
deposits, an official release said here.

For medical reimbursement bills of Assam Governor,
ministers, MLAs, judges of the high court, judicial officers
and those of all India services, the concerned administrative
department will move the treasury along with a certificate of
the medical treatment issued by the respective institution,
it said.

The ban was imposed after it was detected that
employees submitted false medical bills for reimbursement.
