Bangladesh Foreign minister to visit Tripura

Bangladesh Foreign Minister Dipu Moni arriving in Tripura on a two-day visit to boost cross-border trade with the north-east region of India, official sources said.

Moni arriving in Tripura on Wednesday on a two-day visit to boost
cross-border trade with the north-east region of India,
official sources said on Tuesday.

Accompanied by her husband Taufiq Nawaz, government
officials and a 30-member business delegation, Moni will reach
Akhaura Land Custom Station (LCS) at around 10:30 am and would
be received by Tripura Industries and Commerce Minister, Jiten
Chowdhury and top officials.

Later, she will meet Chief Minister Manik Sarkar and
Governor D Y Patil.

On the same day, she would address a business conference
on `North-East India and Bangladesh: Strengthening ties`
organised by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in
partnership with India-Bangladesh Chamber of commerce &
Industry.

The next day the minister would lay foundation stone of a
war memorial park at Chottakhola in South Tripura district,
about 110 km from here.

During the liberation war in 1971, a base camp was set up
by the Mukti Bahinis to launch bush wars against Pakistani
soldiers in Chittagong, Noakhali and parts of Comilla
district.
