Guwahati: Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi on Friday rejected the NDFB pro-talk group's demand for a separate Bodoland state.

Under no circumstances would such a state be formed, Gogoi said during an informal talk with reporters here.

Gogoi said although there was an alliance between the Congress and Bodo People's Forum (Progressive), his party will oppose creation of a new state, carved out of Assam.

i would like to thank mr. jiron basumatary and hope to see new momentum for creating new separate state bodoland and request to press governments for possible talks with anti-talk ndfb who`s demand is also for the same.government should not suppress the hope and aspiration of the insurgent groups who are already agrying for talks.needless to say what governments view on such insurgent groups where they have soft hand with chauvanist assamese and contradict to the tribal people particularly bodos.

i do agree with mr.ghoshs` comment. before giving any harsh comment on the demands of the bodos, the cm must have given a second thought on the issues of the bodos.why bodos are going for separation? the answer is very well known to all the intellectuals of assam.today bodos are the largest at risk population as many areas belonging to them have been encroached upon either by the so called immigrants or the native non-tribals. this group of people have become minorities in their own areas due to continuous flow of people from other regions.to save this community from further exploitation, the govt in power must come out with clear cut policies and handle the issues raised by the community sincerely and solve the problems once for all. this is the need of the hour to re-establish peace in assam.

Its easy to reject Bodo`s views/thoughts straight-forwardly sitting at CM`s seat. But I request you to listen their problems and woes as well with open heart. And this is not happening, thats sure. Although I think that its not correct to support division politics because it won`t help even the Bodos. But just give a good thought that as why idea of separate Bodoland might have originated. This is because they were neglected even by people of Assam...similar to negligence of Centre towards North-East. Solution is to show equality. But their current woes are different and for that I have started supporting their demand. Their current principal problem is influx of illegal Bangladeshi immigrant and dilution of Assamese/Bodo culture in their own place. I support their stand as I want my son to see atleast a piece of land free from illegal immigrants in Assam and where my son can see Assamese/Bodo culture. I am not sure of the fate for the rest of the Assam as I see Bangladeshis with fake identity of Assamese throughout Assam, many can be seen with Bangladeshi culture as well. Even Bangladeshis are participating in Indian politics and are now MPs, MLAs...
