There was no casualty or injury as no train was passing
at the time of the blast, said Northeast Frontier Railway
(NEF) Spokesman S Hajong.
The bomb exploded on the tracks between Mahur and Phiding
railway stations at around 11 pm, Hajong said.
No train was scheduled to pass over the track at the time
of the explosion, he said.
A part of the track was damaged by the bomb blast, he
said. The up Barak Valley Express was detained at lower
Haflong and its corresponding down 15693 at Maibong.
Senior railway and police officials had rushed to the
blast site, the N-F Railway spokesman added.
Those responsible for the blast were yet to be
identified as investigations were on, police sources said.
