Gangtok: The Chief Minister Pawan Kumar
Chamling today urged the cross-section of the civil society in
Sikkim to take collective responsibility for maintaining the
momentum of development in the Himalayan State.
"It is the duty of all sections of the civil society to
take up responsibility for the development of the state for
the benefit of each and all," he said at a function after
flagging off a fleet of six buses received under the central
scheme- Jawahar Lal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission.
The youths, in particular, should take active part in the
development process and lap up economic opportunities being
made available to them by the state government, Chamling said.
The Chief Minister also needled the bureaucracy and asked
them to raise the bar of their capacity to efficiently
discharge their duties for the betterment of the state and its
people.
Chamling further emphasised on the need for peace and
tranquility in the state to attain its goal on all fronts.
