Chamling visits Namchi-Singhithang area

Gangtok: On the second day of his 36-day tour to visit all the villages of Sikkim, Chief Minister Pawan Kumar Chamling Thursday visited Namchi-Singhithang area.

Accompanied by ministers and senior government officials the chief minister declared Damthang area to be the state's first eco-friendly and organic belt and directed the officials to solve Namchi's water supply problem.

Chamling started his day with a visit to Ngadak Gumpa at Upper Ghurpisey where he inspected the ongoing construction work at the historic monastery.

He met the people of Tingrithang village, Jawbari, Damthang Bazaar and at other places.

Chamling sanctioned a Community Centre for Damthang and directed the Tourism Department to process the project.
