Chidambaram arrives in Manipur

P Chidambaram will hold a high level discussion with Manipur Governor Gurbachan Jagat and Chief Minister O. Ibobi Singh on the law and order situation, during his two-day visit to the militancy-hit state.

and order situation, during his two-day visit to the
militancy-hit state.

Chidambaram arrived at Imphal airport at around 6.30 pm on Tuesday from Delhi and drove straight to Raj Bhavan where he
will hold the discussions, official sources said.

Top police and civil officials would also attend the
meeting, they said.

Chidambaram would visit interior Ukhrul district
bordering Myanmar to inaugurate the newly-constructed mini
secretariat building.

He would also hold meeting with chiefs of some villages
in Ukhrul district before flying back to Delhi on Wednesday
afternoon.
