: In the Lower Dibang Valley district of Arunachal Pradesh there are about 100 child labourers as a result of the foiled efforts by their parents and employers regarding their identification.
"There are more than 100 children working as labourers in the district, who couldn`t be established as child labourers," as per the district administrations report after an inspection under the Child Labour (Prohibition & Regulation) Act.
According to the report the child labourers could not be identified because of reluctance put forward by their parents, employers and the children themselves to provide correct information to the survey team.
Most of them surveyed were either working as labourers or were deprived of the basic right to education and were being paid very low wages, the report said.
District Labour and employment office cum inspector submitted a consolidated inspection report, which revealed that these child labourers were migrants from other states.
