CJI holds secret meeting with judicial officials in Shillong

Kapadia arrived in Shillong yesterday on a two-day
visit.

The chief justice visited the Shillong bench of
Gauhati High Court this morning and had high-level discussions
with the judges and senior legal experts of the bar.
The media was kept out of the meet due to some
inexplicable reasons.

Court authorities refused to divulge the details
saying the meeting was a secret.

The CJI, who spend the night at Raj Bhavan, was
felicitated by Governor Ranjit Shekhar Mooshahary last night.
The 62-year-old senior most judge of the Supreme Court
was sworn in as the 38th Chief Justice of India by President
Pratibha Patil earlier this year and would remain at the helm
of the Indian judiciary till September 29, 2012.
