Congress MLA`s son-in-law abducted

Congress MLA Bhimananda Tanti`s son-in-law has been abducted allegedly by suspected NDFB militants from Dhekiajuli in Assam`s Sonitpur district, police said.

Guwahati: Congress MLA Bhimananda Tanti`s son-in-law has been abducted allegedly by suspected NDFB militants from Dhekiajuli in Assam`s Sonitpur district, police
said on Thursday.

Tanti`s son-in-law Bangshi Suna, an assistant manager at the Tinkharia Tea Estate, was abducted by a group of about eight to ten militants while he was returning home on a
motorcycle late last night, they said.

Suna`s motorcycle was found abandoned on the road leading from the estate factory to his house.

Senior police and civil officials have rushed to the spot and a massive search operation has been launched in the area to trace Suna.

Tanti is the Congress MLA from Dhekiajuli Assembly constituency in Sonitpur district.
