Education: No Central rule to be followed in Tripura this year

Tripura government would not execute the Central government`s guidelines for admission in schools as per the Right to Education Act this year as the state is yet to enact laws.

Agartala: Tripura government would not
execute the Central government`s guidelines for admission in
schools as per the Right to Education Act this year as the
state is yet to enact laws.

Principal Secretary for School Education Banamali
Sinha said the state Cabinet would have to pass a law for
implementing the Right to Education Act, otherwise the Central
guidelines could not be implemented.

He said, the students would be admitted according to
the choice of the guardians this year.

According to the Central guidelines, there would not
be any admission test and students would get admission to
schools falling within one km of residence.

State Education Minister Tapan Chakraorty earlier said
that the Central guidelines would be followed in Tripura.
