Five NDFB militants apprehended in Assam

Five NDFB militants have been apprehended by security forces during a joint operation in the run-up to the Independence Day in Assam`s Goalpara district on Wednesday, police sources said here.

Goalpara: Five NDFB militants have been
apprehended by security forces during a joint operation in the
run-up to the Independence Day in Assam`s Goalpara district
on Wednesday, police sources said here.

Acting on a tip-off, a joint team of the police, army
and CRPF launched an operation in Dhupdhara and Dudhnoi areas
of the district since last night.
The security forces apprehended three militants from
Dhupdhara and two from Dudhnoi.

The militants have been identified as Kamal Khaklary,
Thorti Basumatary, Rishi Khaklary, Mukta Rabha and Dhanesh
Hajoary.
The security fores recovered a .32 revolver, six
rounds of live ammunition, five kgs of improvised explosive
device (IED) and several metres of fuse wire.
