Guwahati: Five NDFB militants, all
belonging to the anti-talk Ranjan Daimary faction, have been
apprehended and explosives seized in Assam on Friday, police said.
Two ultras have been arrested from Dholpur in Upper
Assam`s Lakhimpur district and based on the information they
provided during interrogation, security forces recovered three
kgs of explosives and a pistol with seven rounds of
ammunition.
The militants have been identified as Binuel Borgoyary
and Rajib Basumatary.
In another operation, a joint team of the police and
army arrested three NDFB militants from Lower Assam`s Baksa
district.
Two of the militants, identified as Lankha Basumatary
and Samar Basumatary, were apprehended from Labdanguri area
and another, identified as Ajoy Basumatary, was arrested from
Sohagpur area of the disrict.
The security forces recovered some explosives and
several extortion notes from his possession.
