Kohima: The authorities in Kohima have
made a desperate appeal to the football-loving Nagas to
restrict their consumption of electricity the demand for which
has outstripped the supply.
As the World Cup excitement is on the rise, power
consumption has zoomed, but the availability has remained
stagnant, additional deputy commissioner (ADC) of Kohima Alun
He urged all consumers to save electricity in order to
enable everybody to watch the matches unhindered.
The police said engineers and technical staff of the
power department were being abused over phones, particularly
at Dimapur and Kohima, when electricity went off during the
