Former minister to face defamation for anti-Bhandari leaflets

Primula Bhandari said that she had been unnecessarily named in the political controversies between her father Nar Bahadur Bhandari and dissident Congressman Upreti.

Gangtok: Primula Bhandari, daughter of state Congress president Nar Bahadur Bhadari, has lodged a complaint at a police station here challenging the wide range
of allegations made in a leaflet published by dissident Congress leader KN Upreti.

Primula said that she had been unnecessarily named in the political controversies between her father Nar Bahadur Bhandari and dissident Congressman Upreti.

The war of words between the State Congress president and dissident congress leader KN Upreti, came to light in the form of leaflets in which it was alleged that she had close relation with Chief Minister Pawan Kumar Chamling, through his
son Bijay.

Sources close to Primula said that she is going to file a defamation suit against Upreti shortly.

Upreti on January 31, came up with wide range of allegations about Bhandari`s survival politics and his close links with the ruling Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF) party.
