At least four persons were injured in poll-related clash in interior Thoubal district of Manipur, official reports said on Saturday.

Manipur, official reports said on Saturday.

Some persons who were campaigning for a particular
candidate for the upcoming January 28 Manipur Assembly polls
threatened supporters of their rival candidate at Thoubal area
last evening with guns.

The enraged rival supporters chased their vehicle and
beat four persons who were identified as T Ratan, S
Bimolchand, S Mangibabu and N Sanjoy Singh, officials said.

Ratan is a member of Wangjing Tengtha village Jira
Parishad member.

The four who showed guns to their rival candidate
supporters were arrested and are now in Thoubal police
station, reports said.

Various civil society organisations appealed to the
people not to involve themselves in any kind of violence in
the forthcoming elections, reports from the district said.
