Gogoi reviews implementation of budget related schemes

Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi today reviewed the progress of the implementation of various schemes announced in this year’s budget with the ministers concerned and senior officials of departments.

Gogoi today reviewed the progress of the implementation of
various schemes announced in this year’s budget with the
ministers concerned and senior officials of departments.

The Chief Minister directed Agriculture Minister
Pramila Rani Brahma and Minister for Cultural Affairs and
Sports and Youth Welfare Bharat Chandra Narah to ensure that
that all schemes announced in this year’s budget were
implemented by December, official sources said here.

On the agriculture front, Gogoi underscored the need
for according top priority to small, marginal and landless
farmers of the State.

On the cultural front, Gogoi asked Narah and officials
concerned to expedite the process for setting up of the State
Institute of Drama, Institute for Research and Documentation
of History of the Indigenous People of North East, Jyoti
Bishnu Cultural University, Assam Sangeet Academy as announced
in the budget.

The Chief Minister directed Narah to complete the
entire process of distribution of sports equipment to 12,600
sports clubs involving Rs 10 crore by December.
