Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Tarun
Gogoi, recuperating in a Mumbai hospital after a major heart
surgery, has been showing is responding to the treatment and
back on a normal diet.
An official release here quoting doctors attending on
him at Asian Heart Institute said that 74-year-old Gogoi was
stable and communicating well.
"The chief minister is responding to the doctors and
is on a normal diet. His vital organs are responding
normally," the release said.
"The chief minister is also able to sit and walk," the
release said.
Gogoi underwent a bypass, aortic valve replacement and
enlargement of the aorta procedure on August 4.
A team of 11 doctors, led by eminent cardiac surgeon
Ramakanta Panda, is treating Gogoi.
