Rangiya: Huge quantities of
explosives, including TNT, have been recovered from two
persons from Rangiya bus stand in Assam`s Kamrup (Rural)
district on Tuesday, police said.
Rangiya Subdivsional police officer Mrinal Deka told
PTI that the two persons, suspected to be NDFB carriers, were
handed over the explosives and Rs 5000 at the Indo-Bhutan
border by hardcore NDFB militant Sadhak Narzary for carrying
it to Kokrajhar.
The duo, identified as Biren Basumatary and Ajay
Narzary, were trying to hire a car at Rangiya bus stand when
the driver of the vehicle got suspicious and checked the
baggage finding five bags of explosives hidden under pulses.
The driver informed the police and the duo was
arrested, Deka said.
The police suspect that the explosives which include
TNT was being moved by anti-talk faction of NDFB to carry out
violence in different parts of the state.
