Police have stumbled upon an interstate racket and issued a lookout notice for master swindler Faisal Kunhakkar for allegedly duping people of Arunachal Pradesh of crores of rupees.

interstate racket and issued a lookout notice for master
swindler Faisal Kunhakkar for allegedly duping people of
Arunachal Pradesh of crores of rupees.

Kunhakkar of Thrissur, Kerala, claiming to be the
franchisee or business associate of Geojit Comtrade Ltd,
Cochin and proprietor of FISH Financial Services, Guwahati
opened office on October 7 last year at Barpani market,
Naharlagun, police said on Wednesday.

He lured prospective investors with the promise of
good returns and managed to get a whopping investment of
about Rs 1.6 crore in five months before disappearing by
February end, police said.

Further investigation proved that Kunhakkar has
been operating in the same manner in Mizoram, Assam and
Punjab.

However, the extent to which he defrauded the people
in those states is still under investigation, sources said.

The conman would win the confidence of some local
persons and engage them in mobilizing investment, an FIR
lodged against them here said.
