ISI agent taken to Guwahati on transit remand

Ashraf, arrested here early last month, and an accomplice were
taken to Guwahati on transit remand by Assam police today.

Chief Judicial Magistrate T C Roy granted Assam police
the transit remand of Manir and his accomplice on Monday and
directed to produce them before the court of Kamrup district
CJM within 30 days.

DIG (police control) Nepal Das said Khan had spread ISI
activities in Assam and other parts of the region.

The ISI agent was arrested on July 3 along with his six
Indian associates.

Later, on the basis of inputs, culled from interrogating
Khan AND sent by Tripura police, the Assam police had arrested
a person named Bikram Das from Guwahati who was involved in
ISI activities in the north east.

Das said Assam and Tripura police are sharing
informations about the movement and activities of ISI and
jehadi groups in the region.
