Manipur assembly session from March 8

The budget session of Manipur assembly will begin from March 8, state assembly secretariat sources said on Tuesday.

Imphal: The budget session of Manipur
assembly will begin from March 8, state assembly secretariat
sources said on Tuesday.

Governor Gurbachan Jagat summoned the assembly session
following a state cabinet decision recently and an order to
this effect was issued yesterday.
The present law and order problem, kidnappings and
killings of persons for ransom by different militant outfits,
militancy-related problems and other development programmes
would be discussed during the session, sources said.

The business advisory committee of the assembly would
meet here on February 25 to decide the number of days of the
session and issues of discussion, sources said.

The three bills proposed to be introduced are -- The
Karnataka Panchayat Raj (Amendment) Bill 2011, the National
Law School of India (Amendment) Bill 2011 and the Karnataka
Ground Water (Regulation & Control of Development and
Management) Bill.
The Land Acquisition (Karnataka Amendment) Bill, 2009,
and The Karnataka (Regional Laws) Repeal and Amendment Bill,
2009, which had been tabled in the House in March last year,
would again come up in this session.

Bopaiah said The Karnataka Panchayat Raj (Amendment)
Bill, 2007, and The Karnataka Scheduled Castes/Scheduled
Tribes and Other Backward Classes (Reservation of Appointment
etc) Bill, 2001, would be put up for reconsideration.
