Imphal: Manipur Pradesh Trinamool Congress
Committee (MPTCC) office here was attacked by a section of
party workers over cancellation of tickets to some candidates
for January-28 assembly elections, police said today.
Enraged over cancellation of a list of 18 candidates
after arrival of party observer Sourav Choudhuri on Janauary
9, a section of pary workers attacked the MPTCC office and
destroyed its furniture and flags yesterday.
Choudhury cancelled the list on the grounds that it did
not have approval of central leadership, the sources said.
Police intervened and brought the situation under
control.
