Shillong: Meghalaya assembly Speaker
Charles Pyngrope today reprimanded Deputy Chief Minister
Rowell Lyngdoh for speaking on mobile phone when the house was
in session.

Deputy Chief Minister Rowell Lyngdoh, who is in charge
of health and family welfare and is one of the senior MLAs,
was found speaking on the mobile phone when another deputy
chief minister Bindo M Lanong was replying to a query during
question hour.

A visibly perturbed Speaker Pyngrope stopped Lanong to
reprimand Lyngdoh.

"Mr Deputy Chief Minister, we do not allow mobile
phones inside assembly house. You not only failed to switch
off the phone but even responded to the call," he said.

Even Lyngdoh spoke on mobile phone when the house
proceedings were telecast with the speech of Lanong.

With Lyngdoh quickly switching off the phone on
realising the mistake, Speaker cautioned him: "Kindly refrain
in future".
