Imphal: Unidentified militants attacked
the house of a Manipur government official by throwing grenade, official sources said Monday.
Sources said the militants hurled the grenade at the house of Block Development Officer of Imphal West district K Rajendro (50) at Lamphel area in Imphal West district late
last night but it failed to explode.
The police later defused the grenade, sources said
adding that monetary demand from the official could be one of
the reasons.
No individual or organisation have so far claimed responsibility for the grenade attack.
Sources said militants of various outfits have been attacking the houses of officials or rich people by throwing
grenades or bombs for the past several months in connection
with monetary demand.
