Aizawl: Mizoram Assembly, in its first day of the two-day winter session on Tuesday, condoled the deaths of C Pahlira and F Lalramliana, both former legislators who died in July 30 and November 3 respectively.
One-minute silence was observed in the House to pay
respect to the departed leaders after obituary references were
made by chief minister Lal Thanhawla and four other members.
Pahlira, during serving in the erstwhile Mizo
District Council in a number of positions was well-known for
construction of a number of roads in Aizawl and other big
towns despite strong opposition from the land owners.
Lalramliana was a well-known politician and social
worker in Lai Autonomous District Council and in the state.
