Aizawl: Mizoram Chief Minister Lal
Thanhawla and Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Air Command, Air
Marshal S Varthaman on Friday discussed the proposed installation
of defence radar system at Zopuitlang in south Mizoram.
The radar facility was proposed to come up near south
Mizoram's Lunglei town, an official statement said.
Lal Thanhawla and Varthaman also discussed about the
proposed construction of an enclave to accomodate four jet
fighters within the premises of the lone Lengpui airport near
Aizawl, the statement said.
The Air Marshal promised to take steps to ensure that
maximum number of Mizos are recruited in the Indian Airforce.
