Aizawl: The resignation of Manipur
Education Minister Lalsawta has not been accepted and he will
resume work from Monday, Chief Minister Lal Thanhawla
announced on Saturday.
Addressing a press conference, Lal Thanhawla praised the
minister for his uprightness and sense of responsibility and
said he had not accepted Lalsawta`s resignation.
Lalsawta tendered his resignation to Lal Thanhawla on
May 11 owning responsibility for the mistakes committed in the
results of the technical entrance tests for entry into Mizoram
quotas in different technical institutions across the country.
The officials of the technical wing of the state higher
and technical education department, the chief minister said,
were responsible for the declaration of incorrect results and
mistakes in mark evaluation and tabulation.
He said that the officials deliberately committed
mistakes to malign the reputation of his government as they
were loyal to the previous Mizo National Front (MNF)
The chief minister ordered re-evaluation and
re-tabulation which would be taken up by a retired government
official H Raltawna and two prominent retired academicians -
Dr L N Tluanga and Dr Hom Choudhury.
