Ahmedabad: Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra
Modi on Thursday sent a cheque of Rs two crore from Chief Minister's
Relief Fund to Sikkim government, following the Sunday's
devastating earthquake.
"We understand the condition of the people of Sikkim
after the massive earthquake," Modi said in a statement today.
"(We) Have sent a cheque for Rs two crore from the Chief
Minister's Relief Fund to Sikkim CM Pawan Kumar Chamling as a
a token financial help," Modi said.
He said Gujarat had developed infrastructure for dealing
with natural calamities, and it was ready to help if required.
"Having successfully managed a massive earthquake
rehabilitation programme, Gujarat humbly offers its services
to Sikkim," Modi said on twitter.
