Kohima: After staying for nearly two
weeks at Pfutsero in Nagaland’s Phek district, NSCN(IM)
General Secretary Thuingaleng Muivah will go to Jotsoma
village in Kohima district tomorrow on his `peace mission.
According to NSCN(IM) sources, during his stay in
Jotsoma village, about 8 km west of this capital town, Muivah
would visit Khonoma village, the birthplace of legendary late
A Z Phizo, the pioneer of Naga political struggle for self
The Naga leader, who went to Pfutsero on June 4 after
staying for a month in Viswema village near Nagaland-Manipur
border, was also likely to visit Kohima village.
Before leaving for Pfutsero, Muivah told a farewell
gathering that he decided to visit various places in Nagaland
as part of his peace mission to hold consultations with
different sections of Naga society on the on-going Naga peace
process towards finding an honourable settlement.
Muivah, who wanted to visit his birthplace Somdal
village in Manipur`s Ukhrul district on May 5 after more than
four decades, had to defer it after the neighbouring
government stiffly opposed his entry.
The Centre also reportedly asked him to postpone his
visit till complete normalcy returned to Manipur and go to New
Delhi for the next round of peace talks.
